Dr. April Finan (she/her)

Veterinarian/Hospital Owner/Member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners

Dr. April Finan is the owner of Finan Animal Hospital. Dr. Finan is a 2005 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Finan spent 10 years in emergency practice before transitioning to general practice. She finally realizes her dream as the owner of Finan Animal Hospital. Dr. Finan strives to create a fun, diverse, positive, and supportive work environment for her staff. We hope our love for our jobs shows in our care for your pet.

Dr. Finan enjoys lifting weights in her spare time, competing in triathlons, cooking healthy meals, and spending time outdoors with her family.

Dr. Finan is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association, The Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society, and the Chicago Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Amanda Testolin (she/her)

Veterinarian and Fear Free Certified Professional

Dr. Amanda Testolin is originally from northern Indiana and has always had a love of animals. She first came to Illinois to attend Monmouth College, where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. Dr. Testolin is a graduate of Lincoln Memorial University College of Veterinary Medicine. Her medical interests include preventative care, internal medicine, ophthalmology, diagnostic imaging, and surgery. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, swimming, and watching Chicago sports with her husband, Joe and her baby girl, Eleanor.

Dr. Sagan Leasure (she/her)

Veterinarian and Fear Free Certified Professional/Member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners

Dr. Leasure graduated in 2015 from the University of Illinois. At her home, Dr. Leasure shares her home with 5 cats, 2 dogs, a turtle named Flow, her husband, and her most adorably perfect sons, Gryffin and Julian. Dr. Leasure is slightly obsessed with Harry Potter so of course, she named her son Gryffin after her favorite Hogwarts house, Gryffindor. As a veterinarian, Dr. Leasure enjoys studying animal behavior and performing soft tissue surgery.

Jenn (she/her)

Hospital Manager, Certified Veterinary Technician, and Fear Free Certified Professional/Member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners

Jenn has been in the veterinary field since 2008. She is a certified veterinary technician who has a special interest in fear-free veterinary care. Jenn lives with her husband and two kitties, Cooper a munchkin cat and Izzy a Manx cat. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and attending comic conventions.

Jordan (she/her)

Certified Veterinary Nurse and Fear Free Certified Professional

Jordan joined our team in 2019. She graduated from the Certified Veterinary Nurse program at Joliet Junior College in 2018. She is also certified in Fear Free veterinary medicine. She hopes to learn new ways that can be used to help make the Veterinary experience less stressful for our pets(family). Jordan has a special interest in dentistry and hopes to continue educating clients about its importance.

She shares her home with her two dogs Mazie (a Blue Heeler) and Zeus (an Australian Shepherd), and her fiance. She is a huge lover of Blue Merle’s. In her spare time, Jordan can be found either in nature or in the kitchen. She enjoys kayaking, hiking, and baking.

Katie (she/her)

Certified Veterinary Technician and Fear Free Certified Professional/Member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners/Cat-Friendly Veterinary Professional

Katie is a certified veterinary technician who graduated in 2013 from the Veterinary Technology program at Joliet Junior College. She has always been a pet lover but has a special place in her heart for all the kitty cats. Katie has a special interest in dentistry and the nursing care of sick animals.

Treating all of her patients as if they were her own, and providing care with patience and TLC is her true passion. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three kids and baking sweets. She has three kitties, Peanut, Fluffle Sprout, and Marmalade that are her fluffy babies.

Kara (she/her)

Certified Veterinary Technician/Fear Free Certified Professional

Kara joined our team in 2022. She has been in the veterinary field since 2020. She graduated from the Joliet Junior College Veterinary Technician Program in 2022. 

In her spare time, Kara enjoys traveling, playing with her pitty puppy, Remy, and spending time with her adorable baby boy, Khamari. 

Christina (she/her)

Facilities and Inventory Manager

Christina has been working in the animal care field since 2011. She spent the majority of those years employed at a boarding and daycare facility, caring for and tending to the needs of pets and their people. She continues to dedicate herself to the health and well-being of our patients after being a client herself! Her role here at the practice has changed many times over the years and now she is in charge of maintaining the facilities and ordering, but don’t let that title fool you. She has her hand in a variety of tasks around the clinic every day! Our clinic doesn’t run without Christina’s help. 

In her downtime, she enjoys being at home with her husband, Kyle, and her baby boy, Keegan. You can also catch her at a brewery with friends. She loves baking, cooking, party planning and card making. 

Michele (she/her)

Customer Service Representative

Michele joined the Finan team in 2020. She has had experience working at the local humane society and has a passion for all of life’s four-legged friends. She always meets everyone with a warm smile and a cheerful greeting! She shares her home with her recent rescue, Roxie, and you may frequently find them walking in the forest preserve enjoying nature together!

Merlin (he/him)

Veterinary Assistant/Fear Free Level 2 Certified Professional

Merlin joined us in 2021. He has a passion for fear-free handling and feline patients. Merlin always greets our patients with a kind voice and a cup of peanut butter or churu treat when he can. He lives with his husband, Hayden, their dogs Yvonne and Persophone, and their cat Amelia. Merlin loves Star Trek. 

Nicole (she/her)

Veterinary Assistant (Veterinary College Student)

Nicole is one of our part-time assistants who works with us while on break from school. She is currently living and attending veterinary school in Scotland! When Nicole is here she is learning all she can from our amazing veterinarians so she can apply that to her schooling. We hope one day Nicole can join the team as a fully-fledged veterinarian! In her spare time(not studying and working) she pet-sits for some of the local dogs and cats.

Jissel (she/her)

Veterinary Assistant

Jissel has been in the veterinary field caring for dogs and cats since 2018. She has a bachelor’s degree in Biology and a Master’s degree in Animal Science and Behavior. She hopes to one day be part of a zoo team as she has a special interest in exotic animals!

In her free time, Jissel enjoys spending her time at home with her husband and her many pets including: Grizzly the dog, Pebbles the cat, 1 hamster, 3 parakeets, and 3 rats! Her hobbies include reading and training with her dog!

Morgan (she/her)

Veterinary Assistant

Morgan has been working with animals since 2020. She has a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Classical Studies. She has always had a strong affinity for all animals, with a special interest in exotic pets. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and pets, which include two dogs, Bella and Hunter, and four snakes. She also has a love for rock music and video games.

CVT

Angie has  been in the veterinary field since 2011. In her years as a Certified Veterinary Nurse she has become very passionate about surgery and anesthesia. She is currently striving to become a Vet Tech Specialist in Dentistry and Oral Surgery. She is also Fear Free Certified and believes that providing a fear free experience should be considered a standard of care for all veterinary hospitals. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, which includes her husband, daughter, her 2 dogs and 1 cat. She also enjoys gardening, golfing, and hiking.

Customer Service Representative

Nicole joined our team in 2023. She has been in the veterinary field since 2021. She’s always one of the first people who greets you when you walk in the door. She loves snuggling with all the cute puppies and kittens that come in. She spends her time hiking, camping and being outside with her husband, Josh or snuggling up with a good book and her dog Maggie. She also shares her home with 3 kitties.
