Dr. April Finan
Veterinarian / Hospital Owner
Dr. April Finan is the owner of Finan Animal Hospital. Dr. Finan is a 2005 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Finan spent 10 years in emergency practice before transitioning to general practice. She is finally realizing her dream as the owner of Finan Animal Hospital. Dr. Finan strives to create a fun, diverse, positive, and supportive work environment for her staff. We hope our love for our jobs shows in our care for your pet.
In her spare time, Dr. Finan enjoys lifting weights, competing in triathlons, cooking healthy meals, and spending time outdoors with her family.
Dr. Finan is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association, The Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society, and the Chicago Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Amanda Zaidel
Dr. Amanda Zaidel is originally from northern Indiana and has always had a love of animals. She first came to Illinois to attend Monmouth College, where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. Dr. Zaidel is a graduate of Lincoln Memorial University College of Veterinary Medicine. Her medical interests include preventative care, internal medicine, ophthalmology, diagnostic imaging, and surgery. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, swimming, and watching Chicago sports with her fiancé Joe.
Kirsten is a Certified Veterinary Technician having graduated from the Veterinary Technology program at Joliet Junior College in 2012. She has worked in the veterinary field for 14 years with experience in dog and cat, zoo and exotic animal practices. She has an affinity for working with animals and people, developing a good rapport with both. As she says, “If you love your job, you never have to work a day in your life.” – Confucius
Kirsten lives with her husband, four children and her two dogs, Bree and Hennessy. In, her free moments she revels in spending time with her family outdoors, taking the dogs on hikes, trying new restaurants and going to movies.
Lead Certified Veterinary Nurse
Jenn is a certified veterinary technician who graduated from the Fox College Vet Tech Institute in 2010. Jenn has a special interest in Fear Free veterinary visits and recently completed a program to become our first Fear Free Certified veterinary professional! Her mission is to alleviate fear, anxiety, and stress in pets and to educate and inspire the people who care for them. The Fear Free movement focuses on both the physical and the emotional well-being of your pets and aims to make veterinary visits stress-free and fun.
Jenn lives with her husband and two kitties, Cooper (a munchkin cat) and Izzy (a manx cat). In her spare time, Jenn enjoys attending comic conventions, crafting costumes and props of her favorite fictional characters, and immersing herself in a good book.
Certified Veterinary Nurse
Angie is a certified veterinary technician. She graduated from the Vet Tech Institute in 2012. She had worked in many settings- from general practice to emergency and specialty practices. She hopes to one day become a certified dog trainer and train service animals. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their two pets: a cat (Butters) and a dog (Axel). Her hobbies include playing in Top Golf leagues with friends, hiking, and traveling to new places.
After working in the animal care field for the past 9 years, Brandon has done almost everything in the field. He has worked for pet boarding facilities, pet stores, pet grooming shops, and has done animal behavior training. He is a certified bather and brusher, a certification he earned while working at a local grooming shop.
When he is not working, he enjoys spending time playing guitar, trying new restaurants, and playing sports. He also loves spending time at home with his corgi mix, Wiley.
Christina has been working in the animal care field since 2011. She spent the majority of those years employed at a boarding and daycare facility, caring for and tending to the needs of pets and their people. She continues to dedicate herself to the health and well-being of our patients after being a client herself! In her downtime she enjoys checking out the latest flicks, being a magician in the kitchen, playing volleyball, and daily games of fetch with her best buddy, Jengo.
Client Care Coordinator
Molly’s career in the animal field started over 5 years ago working one on one with animals within boarding facilities. She is currently going to school for her associates in science and hopes to one day become a certified veterinary technician. In her spare time, she loves taking her daughter on outdoor adventures and doing arts and crafts. She also enjoys bringing her Doberman Pinscher, Isla, along for the ride on their excursions.
