Dr. April Finan is the owner of Finan Animal Hospital. Dr. Finan is a 2005 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Finan spent 10 years in emergency practice before transitioning to general practice. She is finally realizing her dream as the owner of Finan Animal Hospital. Dr. Finan strives to create a fun, diverse, positive, and supportive work environment for her staff. We hope our love for our jobs shows in our care for your pet.
In her spare time Dr. Finan enjoys lifting weights, competing in triathlons, cooking healthy meals, and spending time outdoors with her family.
Dr. Finan is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association, The Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society, and the Chicago Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Christie Comm recently joined FAH as an associate veterinarian. Dr. Comm graduated with Dr. Finan from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. She spent several years working exclusively with cats and is well versed in the special health considerations of our feline companions.
When she's not practicing medicine, Dr. Comm spends her free time with her 3 year old son and her two kitties. Dr. Comm's kindness and enthusiasm make her a perfect fit for our clinic. We hope you'll think so too!
Kirsten is a Certified Veterinary Technician having graduated from the Veterinary Technology program at Joliet Junior College in 2012. She has worked in the veterinary field for 14 years with experience in dog and cat, zoo and exotic animal practices. She has an affinity for working with animals and people, developing good rapport with both. As she says, "If you love your job, you never have to work a day in your life." -Confucius
Kirsten lives with her husband, four children and her two dogs, Bree and Hennessy. In her free moments she revels in spending time with her family outdoors, taking the dogs on hikes, trying new restaurants and going to movies.
Jenn is a certified veterinary technician who graduated from the Fox College Vet Tech Institute in 2010. Jenn has a special interest in Fear Free veterinary visits and recently completed a program to become our first Fear Free Certified veterinary professional! Her mission is to alleviate fear, anxiety, and stress in pets and to educate and inspire the people who care for them. The Fear Free movement focuses on both the physical and the emotional well-being of your pets, and aims to make veterinary visits stress-free and fun.
Jenn lives with her husband and two kitties, Cooper (a munchkin cat) and Izzy (a manx cat). In her spare time Jenn enjoys attending comic conventions, crafting costumes and props of her favorite fictional characters, and immersing herself in a good book.
Angie is a certified veterinary technician. She graduated from the Vet Tech Institute in 2012. She had worked in many settings- from general practice to emergency and specialty practices. She hopes to one day become a certified dog trainer and train service animals. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her fiancé and their two pets a cat (Butters) and a dog (Axel). Her hobbies include playing in Top Golf leagues with friends, hiking, and traveling to new places.
Hailing all the way from sunny Southern California, Andreece is our friendly, animal-loving receptionist! Through her travels around the world performing, she has discovered just how much she loves meeting and interacting with people. Coupled with the fondness she’s had for animals since childhood, she couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of the awesome staff here at Finan Animal Hospital!
In her spare time, Andreece enjoys road trips with her husband and dog, live entertainment, experiencing all the delicious food the Chicagoland area has to offer and exploring new places.
After working in the animal care field for the past 9 years, Brandon has done almost everything in the field. He has worked for pet boarding facilities, pet stores, pet grooming shops, and has done animal behavior training. He is a certified bather and brusher, a certification he earned while working at a local grooming shop.
When he is not working, he enjoys spending time playing guitar, trying new restaurants, and playing sports. He also loves spending time at home with his corgi mix, Wiley.
Britny, a Wyoming native, is the most recent addition to our awesome team! She began working with animals at 15 old. She worked at a boarding kennel and then as a veterinary assistant for 8 years. Although Britny has held jobs outside the veterinary field, she has found working with animals to be the most rewarding experience.
After moving to Chicagoland to start a family with her husband, Britny began working with us part-time. She is also a full-time mother who enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her husband, daughter, and pets. Please welcome Britny to our practice!
